Fire Hazards FOllow-UP
You have some very good Ideas, but you should Never, Never bring a lit
lantern into a tent. There is no good reason to. Lanterns give off Carbon
Monoxide. Leaving a lit lantern in a tent long enough to heat it will also
put out enough CO to be dangerous to who ever goes in to remove the
lantern. Also you say to put the lantern in and leave it with no one in
the tent. That leads to forgetting about it or an accident happening by
having it fall over when you leave the tent, or the wind disturbing the
tent, thereby knocking it over. Then where will you be. If you really need
the heat, warm some pebbles in the campfire, and put them in a cloth bag
(making sure they're not too hot) and put them in your sleeping bag for a
few minutes. That should give you enough warmth unitl your body heat takes
over. REMEMBER, NEVER PUT A LIT LANTERN IN A TENT!!!!!!!!!!
